A Commitment to Help

Growing older is often the greatest challenge of our lives. At Twin City Christian Homes, we are committed to helping people finish well. Our chaplains understand the unique issues facing older adults and are committed to helping people as they face these challenges.

A Welcoming Spirit

Our ministry is done with a nondenominational spirit. We cultivate a welcoming and safe environment by emphasizing our common love for Christ instead of denominational distinctions.

Providing a Home for Faith

At Twin City Christian Homes, we want to care for the whole person. That’s why we provide chaplains in each of our facilities to care for the spiritual needs of people. Through services and individual relationships we desire to provide for the needs of the soul as well as the body.

Our Focus

Through compassionate listening, prayerful teaching and spiritual leadership, Twin City Christian Homes’ chaplains seek to encourage the work that God is doing in each person’s life.

Vision

Motivated by Christ’s love, TCCH Chaplains foster a welcoming environment that encourages spiritual well being of the people we serve.

Mission

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we desire to glorify God by walking with individuals in their journey toward spiritual wholeness. We accomplish this through compassionate listening, prayerful teaching, and spiritual leadership.

Core Values

We meet people as they are.

As Chaplains we work in an environment where both staff and residents have a variety of perspectives and beliefs. As ministers of Jesus Christ we seek to love all the people by respecting their own spiritual journey.

We show God’s love to all people.

God’s love for humanity knows no end. His love reaches beyond all physical, mental, financial, religious, and cultural differences. This far-reaching love for humanity drives us to reach across as many barriers as possible.

We value friendship.

We humans understand truth most clearly through relationships. So we make it a priority to develop relationships with those we serve.

We reach out intentionally.

God did not wait for us to come to him, but rather he sent his son Jesus to us. In this same way we desire to seek out people through hospital, nursing home and one-to-one visits. Since there is often a spiritual openness that accompanies crises, we make it a priority to reach people when they are hurting.

We encourage Christ’s likeness.

Christ, while loving us with out conditions, calls each of us to deepen our faith in Him. With tenderness and compassion he calls us to greater faithfulness to him. As chaplains we seek to be like him in how we call others to deepen their faith in Christ.

We are based on God’s Word.

The life changing power of our work is found in God’s Word. We are ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His word is our rule of faith; it is our source for teaching and our guide in counseling. We believe that the Bible speaks relevantly to people at all times and in all walks of life, consequently we incorporate scripture in all that we do.

We are committed to prayer.

Prayer is powerful. We seek to use this tool wisely and effectively in all areas of our ministry.

We connect with churches.

The church is the one institution that God has set up to bring him glory. Our ministry can only be effective if we remain connected personally and corporately to local churches.

We walk the talk.

No matter how much skill and training we may possess, our credibility comes from our daily obedience to Christ. As Chaplains we seek to guard our hearts from sin, and to daily be filled with his love for the work that he has called us to.
